MyFriendTweeter is an advanced English language search engine for locating friends to follow on Twitter. The input to this search tool is a simple text file containing a complete description of who you are and what you are interested in. Here is a typical example of what such a biographical search file may look like:

My name is Joe Malloney. I am interested in rock and blues music. I enjoy swimming or bike rides. I also like some types of country music. Furthermore, I enjoy baseball and ice hockey as sports. I am engaged in community work in San Jose, California and I follow local politics. My further interests include: technological innovations, computers, and movies. I am actively looking for females which share my interests.

MyFriendTweeter, will try to locate the best candidate matches for Twitter friends, based on the supplied search file. Searches are open-ended and will be continously refined as new information is obtained.

Getting Started

The following 2 steps should be taken when using MyFriendTweeter.

• Twitter Authorization of MyFriendTweeter
• Supply a biograhical search file describing your interests and who you are.

This step is required and should only be done once for each Twitter account you own. On the main (Search) dialog, click on the right most Twitter authorization button. Now, enter your Twitter User Name. Press the Activate button. MyFriendTweeter will now connect you to the Twitter Authorization Web Page via your Browser. You will be prompted to authorize access of MyFriendTweeter to your Twitter account. You need to grant authorization to proceed! Once you've granted authorization, Twitter will supply you with an Authorization Pin. Write down the pin number. Now return to MyFriendTweeter and enter the Twitter Pin number. Again, click on the Activate button. Once you've received the Activation OK message you are done. MyFriendTweeter now has the necessary authorization to access your Twitter account.

2. Supply Biograhical Search File

You need to add a biographical search file via the Add button. The file should be a plain text file containing complete English language sentences describing who you are and what your interests are. Once both setps have been completed, the search will start. MyFriendTweeter, is an open-ended search engine which means it will continously look for new candidates on Twitter using the supplied search criteria. For best results, you should let the tool run in the background and every so often inspect the found results. You have the option to automatically add the found results to your Twitter following list.
